London's Streatham Redskins posted a convincing 7-1 win over the Solent & Gosport Devils as they completed their home league fixtures in style.

Still missing Stewart Tait and Joe Johnston through injury, Streatham also handed a start in goal to Stefan Nubert who had impressed the evening before in the 6-6 tie with Invicta.

It took just six minutes for Streatham to open the scoring with the familiar figure of Steven Fisher popping up in the right place at the right time to convert Sean Scarbrough’s neat pass at the second attempt with a big slapshot from the slot.

Three minutes later Streatham doubled their advantage as Michal Oravec seized on a defensive mistake by the Devils before skating into the zone and firing past Chico Cole in the Devils goal.

The rest of the period was pretty comfortable for the Redskins however at the end of the buzzer, Jamie McIlroy reacted badly to some words from Devils forward Mitchell Murray and threw a punch at him in front of watching referee Rene Ross.

The 2+2+10 call on the Scot was harsh and also meant that Streatham started the second period a man down.

Ironically it didn’t show, as the Devils powerplay stuttered badly and it was not surprising when Scarbrough spotted Fisher again skating into space in front of goal and threaded the puck through to the Welshman for a shorthanded goal.
