A graduate of the University of Gloucestershire, Tanya is a member of the Society of Sports Therapists and has been recently working with the Sussex Thunder American Football team doing pre-match taping, covering first aid for games and attending training sessions for injury treatment.
Tanya’s first game on the Redskins bench on Sunday in Romford saw her in action straight away attending to Joe Allen’s shoulder injury, Liam Rasmussens knee, Tyrone Millers back/shoulder and Stewart Tait’s hamstring amongst numerous other ailments. None of which fazed her.
“I was part of a selected team that massaged the Samoan International Rugby team on their 2010 tri nations tour and the U21 Gloucester Rugby Academy players so I am used to contact sports” explained Romans, who is setting up two clinics in Sussex with one confirmed in Brighton.
“It is no secret we have been looking for a Sports Therapist since Kirsty Hopgood left us at the end of last season” explained Redskins GM Barry Spours.
“Hockey is a physical sport and we need our key guys out on the ice so hopefully Tanya can make a big difference to the team and I am sure she will”
