Slough calling

Streatham continue their cup campaign this weekend as they travel to Slough to take on the Jets NL team.

The last time Streatham visited Absolute Ice Slough it turned into one of the iconic moments of the clubs history as the Redskins avoided relegation with a thumping 11-2 win over the Jets on the last game of the 2011/12 season.

On the losing side that day, but now in Redskins colours was a young Eddie Temple (pictured right) who is looking forward to playing in his old home rink.

“I am really excited about coming back to Slough and can’t wait to get on the ice” admitted the youngster, who has seen himself climb up the lines in recent weeks.

“It should be fun playing against old team mates and seeing old faces and it should be a good game and I hope we come out with a good result”

The links between the clubs go back a long way but more recently Redskins player Jamie McIlroy captained the Berkshire club for two seasons and Redskins Coach Warren Rost was with the Jets as a player and a coach for many years.

Streatham face off against the Jets in Slough at 7.30pm and will be without Luke Reynolds who has left the club this week.
