Streatham Redskins are delighted to announce another new face to the squad as former Romford Raiders winger Joe Allen joins the team.
The 22 year old player is known for his lightning speed and is a local boy despite spells at Invicta and Romford. A former Guildford junior, it was with his hometown team of Invicta Dynamos that Allen made his senior debut, notching an impressive 10 goals and 15 assists in 16 appearances for the Kent side in 2007/08.
Further spells with Romford Spitfires and then the Raiders gave Allen more senior hockey experience and he was a popular player within the Essex club.
Now living in South London, Allen has been training at Brixton for a number of weeks over the summer and impressed Redskins Coach Barry Spours enough to make a move.
“Joe has had a season out of the game” explained Spours.
“But he is a natural athlete and his skating speed is exceptional. He will soon work of the rust and he will offer us something different up front, especially on special teams where we can utilise his strengths”
“We are delighted he has decided to come to Streatham and we know that he will compliment the other signings we have made this summer. It is an exciting time for the team and the supporters and we will begin our full time training next week to make sure all of the new faces gel together as a team”
You can have your name or business printed on the back of Joe Allen’s away jersey for only £50. You can keep the jersey at the end of the year to make it an even more attractive offer. Email streatham1972@yahoo.co.uk for more information.
